Lavista Park has a very active neighborhood organization. The organization sponsors a professional security patrol as well as a neighborhood watch program -- this may be the primary reason that Lavista Park has such a low crime rate! There's also an active garden club, which is currently renovating the neighborhood park (Lavista Park).
The Lavista Park neighborhood is located close to Emory University and the CDC complex. It is also col to local shopping an fine restaurants on Briarcliff is Loehmann's Plaza, with restaurants, dry cleaners, and other retail businesses. A couple of blocks south is the cool, new Whole Foods grocery store. A short drive will take you to Lenox Square Mall or Phipps Plaza, the Virginia-Highland business district, Toco Hills Shopping Center, or Lindbergh Shopping Center. And if you need to get on the highway, it's only a couple of miles to I-85 or GA-400. The neighborhood is also well-served by MARTA bus lines on Briarcliff, LaVista and Sheridan Roads.
