Looking at Homes and Finding the Right One for You

After we have discussed your requirements, wants, needs, price range, and desired locations, We’ll have a good idea of what you’re looking for.  That’s when the fun starts. 

Finding the right home for you
Based on the information you give me, We’ll search the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for homes that meet your unique criteria.   The MLS is the real estate industry’s database of properties for sale, and I’ll use it to generate a list of homes that suit your needs. 

Selecting homes to view
With the MLS list of homes for sale specially tailored for you, we’ll determine which homes you’d like to see. We’ll make all the arrangements to tour the homes that pique your interest.  All you have to do is show up and enjoy the hunt.

Viewing homes
The real fun in shopping for a home is exploring all the possibilities.  When we tour a home, don’t hesitate to look at everything.  Check out the closets, open the cabinets – if you’re going to buy a home, you want to know all the details.  Frequently the owners will not be present, but even if they are, they’ll understand that you need to fully examine the home to determine if it’s right for you.  If you’re really interested in a home, we can visit it again to give you another look.

Keeping track of your favorites
When a home appeals to you, feel free to take notes.  You might be surprised that at the end of a day of touring homes, you can’t remember if the red kitchen with the island was in the two-story colonial you looked at in the morning or in the brick bungalow you toured right after lunch.  Your notes will help you remember what you liked (and weren’t so crazy about) at your favorite homes. 

In addition, many sellers will provide a brochure with a brief description and photo of the property.  You can include these in your notebook with your notes, and I’ll provide you with any additional MLS data whenever possible.  Information is key when you’re making such an important purchase.
